It is with great pride and honor that I present to you this Academic Guide of the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Education – Mizdah. This guide represents the outcome of collective effort and systematic academic planning aimed at consolidating the department’s identity and clarifying its vision, mission, objectives, and academic and administrative components.
The Department of Chemistry was established to serve as a scientific beacon that contributes to human development, the advancement of knowledge, and the service of society. Chemistry is not merely a discipline taught in classrooms; rather, it is the language of matter, a tool for understanding nature, and a key driver of innovation across diverse fields ranging from education and industry to environment and health, and from the laboratory to the wider community.
We believe that education is not limited to the transmission of knowledge, but extends to building scientific character, developing critical thinking, and fostering professional and ethical values. From this perspective, our academic programs have been designed to strike a balance between theoretical and practical aspects, as well as between specialized scientific training and educational qualification. This ensures the graduation of teachers and researchers who possess solid scientific competence and the ability to make a positive impact in their educational and social environments.
We also place great emphasis on scientific research as a fundamental pillar for knowledge development, problem-solving, and the support of sustainable development. The department actively encourages faculty members and students to engage in high-quality research projects that address community needs and contribute to the advancement of education, health, environment, and industry.
Furthermore, our vision recognizes the vital role the department can play in serving the community through providing scientific consultations, organizing workshops and training courses, participating in environmental and awareness initiatives, and strengthening partnerships with educational and industrial institutions.
We aspire for the Department of Chemistry to be a model of academic, research, and community excellence, and to contribute to the preparation of a generation of graduates capable of critical thinking, creativity, and meaningful contribution.
I invite my colleagues among the faculty members and our dear students to join together as partners in this journey, to work in a spirit of teamwork, raise our standards, renew our tools, and embed a culture of quality and innovation in all that we offer.
May Allah grant us success in all that is good, and may this department remain a platform for knowledge, a source of pride, and a hallmark of excellence.
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
